Lucky bastard, but the J Dilla ish is probably a bootleg. That or they're all "imports."

i dont really care how legit the Dilla thing is, it's got that Fall in Love remix on it, and a "stakes is high" remix that makes my ears smile.

whats wrong with imports? a couple more quid, so what? i'll pay a bit more for a classic album. import/reissue whatever..

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have all of that ish. But... what I mean buy imports is... I used to be a buyer for a record shop and a lot of the times when something was an import (as in a repressing of some classic ish) it was a bootleg from the UK or Europe. Don't get me wrong; because I have quite a few of those type of joints in my collection.

Example: there would be crazy import pressings of Show and AGs "Goodfellas" LP and SV's "Fantastic Vol. 2." Both of the albums were out of print, the labels wern't pressing them up and nine times out of ten it ended up being a bootleg.

(on a side note, Fat Beats recently offically repressed Goodfellas... so that's not a boot)

The only time I really got pissed about buying a boot was when I found an "import" copy of Large Pro's "LP." It had a sticker saying "made in the UK..." Bought the ish, took it home and it sounded like the wack "real audio samples" you hear when you peep a song on sandbox or hiphopsite.

fair play. i see your point. these presses sound fine to me. i think my copy of Gangstarrs "Daily Operation" might be a bit dodge. its not like the tracks sound like mp3s or anything, its just a hella quiet pressing. i figured seeing as it was blatantly a reissue (double LP) there really wasnt any excuse for De La-esque volume. maybe the vinyl is actually made of paper or something...

:(
