the piano player is good but I can't stand harmonica, used it though.

i can't stand harmoinica either ---- i had to chop the piano up into little bits just to avoid the harmonica!! made it more of a challenge though... t'was fun.

my feeling on the whole syth thing or what have is simple.

One. I never use synths but i do make multi layerd tunes....

best analogy.. make it like the Iron Chef.
You are giving the secret ingredient (the tune) and you have to make a tune where the final product will have that song most prominent, or standf out within it. What ever you use to help beautify it is up to you BUT....

the sample should be noticable.

this sounds good to me.... maybe we should do it at the discretion of the winner and sample chooser of each round as said by someone else earlier. i personally don't own or ever use a synth but am all for people's beats sounding heavy!!

for a new format, whereby the sample is taking form the source but we can change it up so that we can ad in other elements, it just that the main source has to be teh "main ingredient" like the Iron Chef. Yah dig?

it has to be clearly recognizable and or prominent. Its just a way of adding a bit more spice to the tunes and the competition.

cool, its just a way of making it a bit more interesting. I think it also a way of having the real producers show their chops cause you use the sample but what other elements you chose to ad will make it real interesting.

even if you flip an accapella on top... you know cause half the problem is finding teh right sounds to match, the right feel.. and as far as i can see that includes raps.

kinda shy cuz it's my first beat that someone will hear, I'm kinda keeping my stuff for my own.
It's cheap but hey, I always wanted to enter a b-contest!
