Ok....once again It was a tie. Outlier and I so I'm going to give it to my man Outlier because I voted for him....Do us proud with the original. Remember to let us know if we are able to use synth and all that  .

RULES

1. Flip what is given to you.
No acapellas, No samples from other songs. Chop up and add kicks and snares (and synth if the person who picks the original permits) as much as you want but USE THE SAMPLE.

2. No songs in pass the deadline.
.........

3. DO NOT submit your entry until the day of the deadline.
Which is at 12AM EST. Friday, April 6th but not before. Deadlines will always end at 11:59 PM. EST the night of....

4. Winner picks the original song for the next round.
Or He/She can pass the pick to someone else.

5. Submit you're songs on a site that allows streaming audio....
This is a new rule by popular demand.

On a side note....I'd be willing to do a Soul Strut VS. STMB Beat Battle Tournament....
Like a 4 on 4 team tournament type deal. Maybe the lurkers will pass that on.

STMB BB#7 was definitely an excellent round for submissions. Thanks for your vote Ern and I appreciate getting the tie breaker.

As for a new sample to submit... I'll try to bring something different but useable. I'm sure my selection will surprise (either good or bad) as I have a few ideas. Just give me some time this afternoon... I'll try to post as soon as possible.
In the words of Gangstarr, 'Stay Tuned'.

Okay, this was actually a difficult choice having to choose from like 10 tracks that I wanted to use. This choice is either gonna be liked or be hated.

I chose the prog rock group Triumvirat, a record I've had for a long time. This track is from the 1975 record Spartacus. It's a long track (almost 9 minutes) actually made up of 3 parts or movements.
I decided to upload two versions, a 128kbps and 192kbps.

Thanks again Ern.

Triumvirat - March to the Eternal City (128kbps)

Triumvirat - March to the Eternal City (192kbps)

MY RULES this week:

Personally I like using just use the elements from the track while adding drums/percussion from the outside.
If you need to add a bass, synth, etc. you can do so. However, the main elements and samples must be from the track given.
Of course all the other rules are in place.

Just have fun doing it, make it your own, and the cream will always rise to the top.

this original is egg-cellent..... its quite a tough choiceto sample amd that, but if i came across this record in the wild it would definately grace one of my mixes. outlier: what does the cover look like??

.... i've mostly finished mine -- i'll just wait till tomorrow , listen to it again and see if it's annoying. thats my usual routine.

The whole album is actually pretty good and there's a fair number of sounds to be utilized from this record for sure. It's not super but a good dig none the less.
I'm glad it's being liked.

okay, you're off the hook. appreciate that you check these battles out and see what people are doing regardless of your equipment status.

man, i wish i had an mpc aswell..... im starting to get super annoyed at tapping everything out by hand on the 303 --- the chop on this beat for this battle was a bugger to do. probably doesnt sound like it though...

when you get your keyboard will you still be anti-synths in these battles? :P

i'll use synths every chance i get when i get one but on the beat battles i'm anti-synth 'til i die :)...
workin' off the sample, kicks and snares alone.
