      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

JINESIS - i like it, especially the drums, they're really hard. but would've been better without the horn sample popping out like 2 or 3 times throughout the beat. nice one

Milkman - nice sample manipulating

Josh G - nice reggae beat, but the crash kinda annoys me

Cralias - not the type of music I like, some people might like it though

Friies - ... the drums aren't synchronized and I should have upped the volume

theyoungelohim9 - nice snare ! always good beats from you

t!llman - i like from 1:10 to the end, fast paced beat, sounds great

TKurata - I like the kick. lots of reggae influences this week

SubBass49 - lol. dope. nice voice sample :D especially at the end

The Wig Master - always nice work from you, this one's no exception... I have nothing to say

JINESIS- kinda hard, just not feeling the melody that much

Milkman- a little too happy for me. plus i would slop up the hats a bit

Josh G- nice. didn't do much but so far it sounds the most like a record

cralias- little too choppy for my taste. just doesn't really sound "natural". but if that's what you're going for...

Friies- used the same part as milkman but yours sounds a little funkier and laid back

theyoungelohim9- similar to josh's, but i think josh's warm, round kick works better with the reggae sample

SubBass49- cool. i'd make it faster and make the synths come in at :30 instead of 1:00

t!llman- okay--used my sample again but flipped it with some syncopated hotness...then the beat changes up--nice....

TKurata- dope. between josh, t!ill and you, i like yours cause it would be the best to rap over. the other ones were a little too slow tempo

suprised no one said anything about the sample. guess no one has this...

I had an hard time choosing between SubBass49 and Friies.

They were both awesome but i'll have to go with Friies with his funky beat

are we gonna do something special for round 50????

anyways, since i didn't submit a beat i can't vote, but i would vote for wiggedy wigmaster or Josh G. They flipped the samples the most creative way.....

rest was good too

was thinking that myself, could do rounds? saw this thing on sneakmove.com

the crate digger death-match is an audio experiment wherein 12 different musicians attempt to create an entire album in under 12 hours using only $12 worth of cds, records, vhs tapes, or children’s toys as their instruments.

clicky clicky linky linky

hmm you can vote, the rules are wether you participated in the battle or you have been a member for at least 2 weeks

and for an original beatbattle 50, we can do a tournament. post like 4 samples, and then a different thread for each match so everobody can vote for their favorite in the 1on1 battle. did you get my idea? people that want to participate would have to submit their name so we can do like playoffs

lets do it. how about more time for submitting the beat? like 2 weeks, so people really can sit down and work on it.

what about samples? should we take one particular album to sample from? this way our beats would have something in common (like a certain sound...see the 'grey album').

I like this idea...someone could post a list of vinyl albums and we pick one to use...each person gets a different track from the record to work with...then the tracks could be compiled into a CD...

I think it'd be a fun 50th battle changeup...

I know it's a couple of minutes late, and I am not even sure it matters at this point -- but if nothing else I just wanted to at least drop my pick for the week...

will post feedback later/tomorrow -- I was out in Jersey and couldn't post pretty much all day...
