      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

Apparently it's "Karma" by Kwanza, as listed here from when he played it on BBC Radio 1 with Giles Peterson. Just found it on SoulSeek, but the only information I can find on the itnernet about it is related to Madlib.

how bout the DJ RELS secret record set A track list?

I'd actually like to know that. I'm really into all this 80s soul/funk/disco that seems to be all the rage with DJs (Madlib, PBW, J Rocc I think...heard Dabrye talking about it), but I don't know where/how/what/who etc.

ya for real. i was at some record fair last weekend in london and it was just a bunch of middle aged dudes trading their 80s disco records for like 200 pounds a piece. insane. all the soul was like dollar bin shit which was cool with me

Yeh, that song is good. I'm pretty sure he's saying "photographs". Sounds Brazilian... like Marcos Valle or something.

I would love to see a Vol. 5 tracklist.

I know some of the tracks on there...

"We Can Make It If We Try" by The Sylvers

"People Make The World Go Round" by Ramon Morris

"Keep The Faith" by Steve Mancha

"Revelation" by Barrington Levy

"Do You Remember (Dub)" by Eek-A-Mouse

From Vol. 3...

"Home Rule" by Lloyd McNeill

"Kwanza" by Karma and the track after this is an unreleased Madlib beat

"As Serious As Your Life (Remix)" by J Dilla which I'm sure everyone knows :D

"The Pop" by Chocolate Star

"Acknowledgement" by Doug Carn, yes, a Coltrane cover

"Stay With Me (Feat. Tiombe Lockhart)" by the Platinum Pied Pipers

"Fruitman" by Kool & The Gang

"Troupeau Bleu" by Cortex, and I really wanna fucking know the weird, psychadelic boogie song after this

"Mar Azul" by Som Imaginario

That's all I know. :P

He's the one that did that "Sly" track that Madlib has played on a few mixes. I didn't think of him, but maybe it is actually.

Any idea of what album, or even around what year it is from? I was thinking early 70s...

Just found a tune from Mind Fusion Vol.2.

Track 1 9:09 - 11:47 ---- Michal Urbaniak's Fusion - Ilex (From Album ATMA) 1974

which I guess Madlib sampled for "Serenade For A Fast Lady" in Malik Flavours Ugly Beauty...
