      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

THE WAS Soda_Jerk Vs The Avalanches

quit what you're doing, watch this, and name the movies.

The Avalanches’ long-awaited second album, Wildflower, is out on Friday (7/8) featuring more of their nostalgic “what’s that sample?” collage/tapestry magic. For a visual companion to what they do, check out The Was, a 14-minute short that ingeniously intercuts clips of over 100 films, TV shows, as well as concert footage and original animation — all to music from Wildflower.

New album already in my top ten all time any genre. It's been on loop for four days.

Would their first record be in that list too then? I'm really digging the new record, but still think Since I Left You was a bit more of a 'experience' and stuff. Lots of good tracks, but the biggest surprise to me was the Biz track, really really fun one

I think Since I Left You is certainly darker. I have been listening, anticipating not liking it, almost trying to find flaws, but it's pretty dang good.

I think the two are pretty even in quality!

I've had several "I know I heard this loop someplace before" moments while listening. Truly a beautiful album ...

They really managed to exploit the nostalgia with that video, while at the same time not disgusting, annoying or offending me.

Really had a hypnotic quality to it.
