      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

The Beatles, George Martin

Phil Spectur

Haven't we done this before?

it was more of a joke entry, but in actuality his dated, kinda lame novelty records were one of the many precursors to sampling...so there's something positive in what he did. oh, but he did shoot himself in the head sometime in the '80s. it's certainly a chunky discog though, to say the least:

I love the Roots music, but I find Black Thought as an emcee too one dimensional. And yes, Madlib the Bad Kid. Dood got a massive repitoire. Still making heat.

Wow, with regard to Black Thought--I have a totally opposite opinion. I have seen him do some very intersting things. I'm curious as to why you think he is one dimensional.

This is a weird one, but Sam Cooke. I say "weird" because most of his best material (and original songs) are on his Greatest Hits albums taken from 7" records. His actual full length records and collections are amazing too, so it's a win all around. He's my "can only listen to records from this artist for eternity" pick.
