      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

quiet tracks on soundcloud...

5 posts in this topic

Compared to other peoples cuts, my tracks tend to sound a little quiet once they're up on soundcloud.

they need to be just a bit louder...

does soundcloud auto normalize?

any tips?

thx

i think they do, unfortunately...almost every time i upload something it ruins my original mix slightly. i just compensate by compressing it a little bit louder...

Try putting flac or a wav files up, keeps fucking my beats up as well.

Make sure your mixes are around -6Db for more headroom. If you upload a mix at a value higher than -0.6Db your mixes will sound like shite on soundcloud.

Get this shit - http://www.dynamicra...eter%201_4a.zip (FOR WINDOWS)

http://www.dynamicra...ter-for-MAC.zip (FOR MAC)

It's a very small program that tells you the peak and dynamic range of any 16-bit wav file. That way if your peak is too low, it'll tell you by how much DB or how many tenths of a DB you can increase the overall track.

Make sure your mixes are around -6Db for more headroom. If you upload a mix at a value higher than -0.6Db your mixes will sound like shite on soundcloud.

I've never had any problems with my tracks sounding different on Soundcloud while using the above described method.
