      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

Turntable help

6 posts in this topic

I'm working with a set of Vestax PDX-D3 turntables, Tuned Reference 8 studio monitor's and a simple Numark M2 mixer.

There's excessive static emitting from the turntables/ speakers - How could I reduce the static?

- I play both old and brand new records...

Thank's for your time

Sometimes if I don't have eveything grounded properly I get static. Have you checked your ground wires?

I've run into odd static-like noises from... excess static. Have you cleaned your records lately? Used any sort of anti-static brush (I like the Hunt EDA mk 6)?

Do you hear the static even when the volume's turned all the way down?

Yea, that was the case. I had a friend come over and take a look at how I had my turntables set up. He grounded the turntable's connection to my mixer and it took away of all of the static. Thank you, and everyone else for their post.
