      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

I dont know...Heard the snippets and it seems like shes making the same album over and over again. With the exception of the jazz record she put out, I really think shes became way too comfortable with her sound.

I don't get this, this is how she sings. she's not a beyonce type singer. what more should she do?

i guess hes saying all of her songs sound the same.... i dont agree 100% but i can see where hes coming from, thats my complaint about 9th wonder "his beats all sound the same"... maybe he wanted her to rap?

dope album nonetheless!!!!! dope beats nice meaningful lyrics cant ask for more than this in 2012!!!!

Its not so much her singing style. Im sayin its her production style and the substance that always seems the same. Over the course of a few years a lot of artists have switched up to some degree. It's like how Further Adventures sounds wayyy different than The Unseen, or how College Dropout sounds wayyy different than 808's. It'd be refreshing to hear her do an all rap album, or a punk album...Just something to wake me up. That's just me tho!

I'll still give the album a chance cus of Madlib.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Downloaded it from iTunes yesterday (CD is coming in the mail today).....

I've been playing this from front to back all day......

This is beautiful.....they sound excellent together......

'Kneecap Jelly'....if you don't nod your head to that...then you have problems...4 real.....and she rips it towards the end....

This is a great CD, not one flaw imo......

The entire album is amazing. I was not really a fan of Georgia Anne until I heard the 7" and then the complete album. It's a bit short at 34 minutes, but it's all so good that the length does not really matter. Ver vocals work so well w/ Madlib's beats. There is a good review of the album in the New York Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/01/arts/music/albums-from-mary-stallings-black-breath-and-miguel.html

However, for some reason, Georgia's label SomeOthaShip was not properly credited. StonesThrow, I love you guys, but Seeds was released by SomeOthaShip not ST. For some reason, NYT has not corrected their error. I thought that they were supposed to be the paper of record? Twitter the writer @benratliff to get him to get the NYT to give SomeOthaShip some respect and make the correction, at least on the NYT website.

LOL! Not only is Stones Throw NOT credited or behind any credits, As far as this album is concerned it doesn't even exist! There has been no acknowledgement of this release on behalf of stonesthrow.

looks like they fixed the problem though.
