"This is strictly limited to 1000 pieces" ....SURE IT IS!

it is interesting that these are still so available. sold out of some places but still at others, including here.

MMS 5 sold out of everywhere in like 3 weeks if I'm remembering correctly and there were like 1300 pressed...

Whereas MMS 9 is still available on hhv.de, and took forever to sell out elsewhere.

not to mention that 1st stepkids single which had like 1500 pressed and is still readily available (obviously different drawing power but still)

But in my experience shit pressed to 1000 goes pretty quick usually, right?

It "sold out" like three times already in the ST store. If I woulda known that this wasn't limited, I woulda saved money and only bought one copy. No doubt in my mind all the rest of the limited medicine shows come back like Jordan and Jay Z.

surprised to see such hate for the liner notes. this guy's essay on MMS #2 (from digthatsweetsound.blogspot.com) is the only review i found that took on the greater issue of DJ culture, raising some questions & criticism that go right to the core of the whole medicine show series without simply crapping on it because he didnt like the music. (he makes it clear he does like the music.) there isn't much music writing worth reading, even on the web's dominant review site - usually just shallow/wordy descriptions of the music, or something based around a number-rating.

Jamal or Mally G was in Illegal in the early 90's and was down with Def Squad in the late 90's. He originally hails from Philly.

bumpin this in the hopes of getting a straight answer as to the actual number of 12/13 vinyl that were pressed. released in december, sold out, then returned in january after there were leftovers from the tour, right? Now almost june and they're still readily available in the store. considering this is a limited madlib hip hop album available only (with this particular tracklist anyway) on vinyl, it seems unbelievable that there were truly 1000 pressed and they'd still be available almost half a year down the line... that's less than any of the other limited LPs, which sold out right quick (except for #9 and #11 if i remember right)

Not that I'm really complaining, just curious. were there actually THAT many leftovers from the tour? did NO ONE buy them at the shows? Seeing as they're not numbered, theoretically there could be many more, right? on some MMS#6 conspiracy shit.

swamp, there was 1000 made. plenty sold at shows, but that was only 3 shows. most of the rest sold here, so we had a lot more stock than the other MMS vinyl, which sold all over north america & europe.

I'm hoping he remixes for some commercial artists like.... rick ross, jay z, kanye, and others, Just so those commercial cats can realize just how intelligent/creative their music can sound if madlib was behind the boards.

I am tired of the corny pop beats that are on the radio these days.

In addition, whatever happened to the madlib beat that jay z and kanye supposedly rapped over ??

very good question, supposedly Ye purchased several beats from Otis back in like 2010 or some shit...whatever happened to those, why weren't they on Yeezus as replacements for all the shitty tracks on there?
