      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

What's in your studio?

Albino 1 & 2 (great sounds all-around)

Kontakt 2 (the ultimate sampler for software geeks)

Battery (NI standard drum sampler, love it)

I've played with reaktor abit, bad program!

NI's FM7, Pro53, and Kontakt, and B4, Lounge Lizard 2, Emagic ESXP24, Tritium, Novation BassStation and V-Station.

I do more than just hip hop tho. Detroit Techno, Ghettotech, and Electro with a dab of Deep House to keep it interesting.

I have a lot of VSTi's. My favs are the impOSCar, the Oddity(gmedia), all the Arturias, NIB4, Lounge Lizard, and the Combo Sister, and the Vstation. VSTis are almost too good and you have to durty them up a bit. good fun tho! dont limit yourselfs to presets!

i havent tried a real moog much so im not one to judge, but anyways, i think it sounds great!!!

you can listen to the top track called Crunchy Fonk on my myspace page:

all the synths in that track are arturia minimoog... i personally think it sounds pretty good but thats just my opinion :-)

novation v-station....i love layering and using multiple instances of it...........

discovery v2.7....it isn't a nord, but it will do.

as for a sampler plugin........i bought sampler for ableton live..........choppin drums on it is so much easier....and sound creation is so fun with it.

stylus rmx.......great for a live set, because the swing on it and quick interface will help liven up the set.

sd2100....its free and it puts warmth in your drums.

I think it's mainly about how "Analog" it sounds. Warm? Cold digital?

I'm assuming it sounds good. I would get it, but i'd need a good soundcard

good soundcards are key to any of these softsynths..... I wish I could phish out all of the reviews i see on the net of people who have crappy soundcards and rate the softsynths based on what theyre hearing through their crappy onboard sound.
