      STMB   01/22/2017

Sorry for the outage. The board went down for repairs on January 5th, and we didn't expect to be out for a full 16 days.  STMB is using a default skin, as you can see, and that will probably be the case for a few weeks.  Meanwhile, the board is working better than it ever has before.

Ghostface Is The Greatest Rapper Of All Time..

45 posts in this topic

I feel like this is part of who Ghost is though, I mean, dude makes up his own slang...and after pressing rewind a couple of times, the slang makes sense.

I guess, it seems like dude be in his own world on the slang.

I thought E-40 was bad

. I wonder what he's up to nowadays.

Well, we know what Hector is up too LOL

PBS was the closest thing to cable I had

He is in his own world on the slang. Dude, E-40's shit is whack, to me. Wu slang is 1000039345398734987 times better than E-40's annoying forced garbage.

For all those hating' on Ghost please go buy Supreme Clientele, twist a few blunts. Take a time out, sit by yourself, listen to that whole album while smokin' the stuff mentioned in the previous sentence and listen with an open mind.

If you don't like it, you don't like it....but I'm tellin' you that album is great and once you fall in love with that album, you will probably have a neww appreciation for the rest of his stuff...EVEN bulletproof wallets!!!

Please focus on the last few lines...

"Word.. it's me y'all..

We in two-six's flirtin with bitches

Dime plus takin pictures, how you doin baby? My name Ghost

Don't get caught up in my chains, or the way that I speak

Seek intelligence, slickest nigga goin since "Grease"

Check out the grays on the side of my waves

I grew those on Riker's Island

Stretched out, balled up in the caves

Pull a boot out on Jimmy Jam, text takes jam

Silky texture, Jordan jumped up like Clyde Drexler

All up in the parrot, nose numb, real as they come

Biggie's Versace's, snow white rabbit

Hands is like photographic magic, funeral love

Movin when we hug, don't make it a habit

Hit the gym for two weeks, come back all chiseled

Elbows unique now, meet the new me

Ghettofabulous, Ton' Atlas

Zulu Nation in the 80's in front of Macy's

I start my own chapters

Tyco nightglow velvet pose, special effects

High-tech armors merc you at the shows

Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious

Dociousaliexpifragalisticcalisuper

Cancun, catch me in the room, eatin grouper.."

He can make sense/not make sense, be detailed like no other. Call him lyrically abstract. The man clearly loves words and the sound of words. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets in a groove while writing lyrics to songs about nothing* and just doesn't care if the shit he comes up with in the heat of the moment are deliriously out of sync. His nasally [though ecstatic] flow can get monotonous, though; he always seems on the cusp of crying. But the man never sounds anything less than enthusiastic and hungry. Maybe if he tried to be less abstract he would receive the respect he deserves.

But do any of you have fun attempting to break down his words? I do. The man's capable of inspiring people to care about making verbal communication musical and artistic.

*[something being "All That I Got", "With a Strap", etc]

These are my favorite MC's who i think can go toe 2 toe with GHOSTFACE

*KooL G. Rap

*AESOP rock

*GzA

*JERU da DAMAJA

*RAKaa IriScience

*mf DOOM

Come on lil buddy, RAKAA IRIFUCKINGSCIENCE! Son isn't even the best in his own group let alone ghost. Ghost is ill, but not that best. Is KRS1 fucking chopped liver? I concur with the Doom statements though. He's presents a very strong case for the goat in my book. But really, can one really come to a conclusion in a greatest of all time discussion?

Hey I dont care, I just know what I like, I like MC's that dont grate on my ears. He's good, dont getr me wrong, and he is amazing storyteller, but his voice, is his one knock against him. Its ounds good in cetain situations but for an overall selection of greatest ever I have to disagree.

Thats some of the most homoerotic shit I've ever heard! You want a hip hop version of Barry White or something!? Are you trying to get serenaded or something.....You might be listening to the wrong type of music homes. THIS IS HIP HOP, music with a street origin. It's supposed to sound like that!!!!! B)
