Yeah, so I'm bored and looking for a new series to start watching... We get shows about 2 years late here in Aus. so I just download 'em.

Looking for some recommendations about what's good over there at the moment.

I loved The Wire. I'm watching Generation Kill. I like good dramas. Comedy I like off the wall shit like Flight of the Conchords or Mighty Boosh.

So yeah, gimme and idea of what I should download next....

Thanks for the suggestions...although we're not quite that isolated over here. :P Those have both been on free-to-air for a while now.

I'm thinking of new shit....1st or second season.

Weeds is good. It's racist in an ironic way, meaning, they make fun of everybody. That's not why I like it, just worth mentioning.

I don't really watch TV that much. TMZ is a guilty pleasure, but that's because they bag on celebrities real hard. Funny as fuck. Also the fact that I live or work near where they film makes it local for me. It's funny seeing some celebrity getting clowned on your own street.

I was bummed when Arrested Development got canceled. That was good television.

Catch up with some english series like Garth Marenghis Darkplace, Snuff Box, Alan Partridge etc if you haven't..

Yeah, the US version, although not complete garbage, can't touch the original..

the original will never be topped...but the US version is now a classic as well imo.

30 rock is def the best US comedy going...reruns though.

right now the only shit I feel is worth watching is Generation Kill, Weeds, and Mad Men!

Mad Men is sooooooooo fucking good. It's about a swank advertising firm set in 1959 (skips 2 yrs every season, currently in 2). Created by a Sopranos writer, it may end up being the better show (last couple seasons of Sopranos fell off for me). Image overload in 3, 2...

added to some of my favs mentioned above (wire, 30 rock, earl, sopranos, scrubs, arrested)

DEADWOOD it's a western-but not like the usual ones (bonanza or gunsmoke)-this is way way grittier & sometimes graphic with a really great cast & very well written dialogue.
Posted Image

ANDROMEDA created by gene roddenberry (star trek franchise creator) is one of my fav sci fi series. it has some interesting ideas about humanity and more expanded ideas on space exploration. great cinematography and action with an odd but likable cast.
Posted Image
Posted Image

LOST this show is great. suspense mystery and well laid out. it has the most interesting structure of any tv series i've seen with a heavy emphasis on characters and mysteries that keep you wanting more. it's also shot & directed really well.
Posted Image

DR WHO? but of course you guy been had this for the last 30 years but i'm really enjoying the new dr who's. (christopher eccleston & david tennet)

THE VENTURE BROS & ROBOT CHICKEN two very good cartoons on adultswim, made for older audiences

Go grab Seasons 1 and 2 of "Heroes'...Season 3 starts Sept. 22 over here, can't wait!

Other good shows:
Scrubs
Simpsons
SpongeBob
The Office
House
ATHF, etc.

Also, if you go on hulu, go look up "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". It's only 3 parts, but I think it's great. Here's all 3 parts put together:

if you have LOTS of time...
Battle Star Galactica, Prison Break, Peep Show, Sealab 2020, Harvey Birdman, Trailer Park Boys, Venture Bros, Entourage, Chapelle Show, Lost, Curb Your Enthusiasm...

A lot of current UK shows seems a bit stagnant to me but we kick ass on Documentaries - Tribe (BBC), Tribal Wives, Panorama/Dispatches, Blue Planet (basically any BBC nature Docu), I'd avoid a lot of the Discovery Channel Docu's unless you're a complete shit-for-brains that needs everything restated 20 times
