DEXTER

Dexter seas. 1 was good. But I have a feeling it's going to go downhill from here. Could be wrong though...

Yeah Mad Men is BRILLIANT

So is Generation Kill...that last episode was just breathtaking. I wish it was more than 7 episodes.

...season 2 of Dexter is pretty decent, not as good as 1 but still entertaining. If you REALLY like Dexter, the 3 books are a hoot. Especially the first two...

So watching Mad Men over the last few days. You're right, it's pretty good...Only problem is that most of the cast will be dead from lung/throat/mouth cancer before they get a chance to make a 4th series! Man, they smoke a lot!!!

I put the Season One DVD on hold at my library months ago and it finally came through last week.

I'm pretty partial to anything Sorkin related, but this shit is stellar.

If you like politic shows: BOSS
If you're into english humour : Spaced (w/ Simon Pegg & Nick Frost), The IT Crowd (the show that inspired Big Bang Theory -- but it is much better), or Black Books
If you like music: Treme has to be considered even if it is a bit "slow" compared to other drama
If you liked the Wire (I assume you did saw it) you could give a try with The Corner which is kind of a "prequel" shot as a documentary

Luther, never heard of it until Monday, nearly watched the whole thing, 3 seasons, download that ish, clever detective drama with black comedy (that means dark it's a UK phrase), and the modern Sherlock.

Yes, co-sign.

Also I just finished watching Twin Peaks. The first season and the first half of the second season must be my all time favorite, pretty old though. David Lynch co-created the series and also directed a few episodes.
Also: The Wire and Arrested Development.

As for currently running: Breaking Bad.

i need to check out the newsroom. i just finished 'house of cards' a few days ago and that was really good. beatronome mentioned twin peaks and i would have to absolutely agree. up until you find out who did it. then, the show got canceled and lynch gave up on it. still, twin peaks is awesome and david lynchs films are some of my all time favorites

Yes! House of Cards is fucking awesome. If you liked the feel for that then definitely make The Newsroom your next show to devour.

amazing show, too bad it got cancelled. the atmosphere is so dense and oppressive I think it turned off the casual viewer.

has anyone mentioned Wilfred or Louie yet?
FX is killing it with the comedy shows...

and Louis C.K. is my favorite (living) comedian, so obviously anything he does is gonna get gobbled up by my retinas the second it becomes available.

www.livetv.ru is where its at for sports. Kinda sketchy, in terms of, I am pretty sure it is just sme Russian dudes streaming pretty much any major sporting event. Sometimes the connection sucks but overall, it gives me my sporting fill, since I have no tv.

Got the MMA, UFC on tonight, plus some Red Bulls soccer and Marieners baseball.

Fuck the casual viewer. In the era of streaming video and premium networks like HBO the trend is going away from the 'least common denominator' formula the networks have to abide by. Starz should have held out and invested more time on this, they also should have let Netflix stream it because this is essentially House of Cards done better in some parts and it was made two years before. The second season was almost better than the first one in my opinion. The way it ended was hella disappointing though, I'm gonna chalk it up to the fact that the creators probably didn't know they would get the axe before they had a chance to start a third season.

lmao i haven't seen House of Cards yet but anytime someone starts describing it to me I always say "So have you seen Boss?"
invariably the answer is no.

Yeah it's cruel the story won't continue, I gotta assume they were trying to just leave it open for a 3rd season with that ending. Shit's like Macbeth if you can get into it, a third season would have been nuts. Kelsey Grammer fucking KILLS it. Once you get into the swing of the show and get with all the characters it's hard to understand why people weren't into it. It got like less than half of the ratings of that stupid Spartacus show of theirs. In fact if I remember correctly Starz loved Boss so much that they ordered the second season before the first episode even premiered... Without that I doubt we would have even gotten a second season. Gotta agree that if this had been a Netflix Original Series® it would have a wayyyy bigger following and probably would have kept going since it was cheap as hell to make.
