That’s right, you read correctly. Yo! MTV Raps is coming back on the air and online for the entire month of April. Why? To celebrate Yo!’s 20th anniversary, of course. You’ll be able to check out rare pics of your favorite hip-hop artists, vintage playlists of classic videos, exclusive interviews with Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover and Doctor Dre, and more classic clips than Slick Rick’s got gold chains.

Get ready for Yo! MTV Raps month, starting in April.

20 years? Damn... that ish makes me feel old. The other day I realized that this summer is going to be Batman and Indiana Jones, just like when the last Indiana Jones movie dropped... (big summer that was) Then it hit me that that was 89... almost 20 years ago. DAMN!!!

I watched the one today and thought it was weak. They played audio-less clips of the show (like 3 seconds of the ODB freestyle clip) and then played 2 rap videos and then two shit videos one being T-pain and some shit called "Elevator". Lots of commercials and meanwhile Missy Elliott and some other dudes who used to be on the show were trying to be funny and talking about "getting paid". I still am going to tape all of them but I hope they get better, I wish they would just show episodes not this stuff. Atleast they didn't try and re-make it, even though it's borderline. (First episode, Young Lil Joc Jeezy)

something tells me MTV never really went through with this, lol...
at this point, i just want them to die as a channel so they can stop messing with everything i hold sacred from my childhood.

they already ruined Celebrity Deathmatch, TRL, and Beavis and Butthead. just as long as they steer clear from my hip-hop, i'll let them slide and just chalk it up to well-intentioned bad decision-making.

Hip-Hop is such a rich culture, it should really have it's own channel by now, look at all the elements and think about it, Graffiti, Skating, Dancing, Production, Turntablism, Battles...It could be so well rounded.
