Congrats slanteyez! Props on the sample tools. Here's my beat with only the samles and an outside hat on the last part.
Posted 16 June 2014 - 12:11 AM
Whoops, guess the acc was a little loud on mine, sorry for any popped eardrums from Common!
I've switched the file for a better mix (hopefully)
Posted 16 June 2014 - 02:55 AM
I made a microwave tonight out of the samples, didn't use any outside instruments, but it's better than my first so I'm throwing it up. Don't hurt me
Posted 16 June 2014 - 03:37 AM
had a LOT more fun wit the special rule than i thought i would
will prolly start using this trick more often in my personal shit
many thanks and props to the host

Hey yall, this is my first stbb, I hope you can dig this
great sample btw, and a lot of you guys in here flipping it like pros
Posted 16 June 2014 - 06:52 AM
Quick microwave beat from me this week. Didn't even think I'd get time to enter.
Not sure if the "essential" part of external meant it was a rule or not? but I only used the provided samples (as a challenge). No outside bass or drums or anything...
Posted 16 June 2014 - 08:17 AM
The 'change of tempo' rule piqued my interest this week so I done made something
Posted 16 June 2014 - 08:45 AM
congrats slanteyez! thanks for the samples Pete!
...thanks for the b2f inspiration! slow one but flux capacitor installed
big up to all of you
Posted 16 June 2014 - 03:02 PM
finally simple rules and brilliant sample, congrats to win. my beat
Posted 16 June 2014 - 07:38 PM
This is my first submission, hope all enjoy, and good luck to all!
As far as rules go, there is a 7/8 breakdown at around 1:21
Posted 16 June 2014 - 10:08 PM
Glad you guys are diggin the samples. A lot of pressure on me when given I didn't win
On the Maschine topic, maybe try a time signature change rather than a bpm one - or make some parts different tempos extract and blend.
Also on the tracklist - Oskarr got 2/4 already - 1st cut on the b-side of Bionic Booger breaks - and some ad-libs from the a-side. Lets see if anyone can guess the 2 main samples, even the artist Otherwise I will divulge when voting opens!
I'm gonna guess that the artist on the second sample is most likely Gary Burton. That xylophone definitely sounds like his with its dynamics and note expression.

yoooo just got some new hardware, and only used that. still working out the kinks. changed the bpm slowly from start to finish. pretty subtle. . .

I'm new to the board so this is also my first flip for a STBB.
I hope you enjoy it
Posted 17 June 2014 - 03:11 AM
suuurp duudes, top theme for this week, like the idea of a tempo shift
here's mine for this week
Posted 17 June 2014 - 05:46 AM
yo i had fun by using these samples. i used the vocals, parts from the drums which are completely chopped. then i also used the dirt of the two samples whick u can also hear on several breaks. after picking my guitar and playing my bass it was like small spots of the sample to fill inmy guitar breaks. so have fun listening
edit: and yeah i made a remix for a german group called Bastlaz aka Rohdiamanten as a promo move for them. they also drop an album this year. hopefully! peace

Here's my joint for the week.
Recorded a friend on the trumpets to get a jazz vibe into it.
