Man, I struggle to understand why people speak so highly of her, everything she's involved in seems so forced.

The scrolling motion of your video reminds me of a short that came with one of the design books I purchased called Motion Blur. Are you familiar with it?

Yeah Ka is a true master at being a self-contained artist and I admire his work ethic greatly. From the way he constructs his tracks to his writing and performance to the visuals, he gives you a solid representation of who he is as an artist and there's no grandiose imagery, it's just the raw gritty tense darkness of the streets of Brooklyn. He also knows how facially work the camera with his stoic expression. This is why it's so powerful and works in his favor because when you watch his videos you believe in his art.

^ that shit is dope!!!
never heard of Ka before now, but now i'm looking up more...

i can't believe we all forgot about this one too...even though this one's more of an abstract assemblage of odds and ends found from the darkest corners of the internet; i think of it more as visual sampling than an actual visual component to the mixtape/album/whatever you wanna call it.

I need clarification here, is Beyonce's album available only in video format? Or is it that you get MP3s with the video album?

And just to add something to this discussion, another aspect to consider is how many times can you listen to a track vs how many times can you watch a video? Personally, I can watch a music video only once or twice and then I'm good. That could be a problem.

i think the album is available in both formats, so you can buy the album for like $10 or the all-encompassing package for $15.

Not all the tracks have it without the video, there's some tracks where it's just video and seems to be a specialist type thing with itunes, doesn't surprise me really, when you look at how apple do business. the following tracks are video only.
Ghost
Yonce
Grown women
probably get re-released again as just a track, cos she can make more money and so will itunes. think it's a cool concept but you got to give your fan base total choice. What are you meant to get out of this if your blind.

No I mean real backpackerish like what Madlib does or Chuck Strangers or KanKick, just some really simple quick and dirty but dope shit. Then they could do videos for each song on the album.

http://theboombox.co...-1-second-week/

It’s safe to say that 2013 was the Year of Beyonce. In the past 10 days, the R&B queen has sold 991,000 copies of her visual album. So it’s no surprise that her collection retains its No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart for a second consecutive week.
Buoyed by digital sales from iTunes and CD purchases at brick-and-mortar stores, the album moved 374,000 copies during the week ending Dec. 22. Queen Bey’s self-titled LP is now the 12th biggest-selling album of 2013. And with only one more tracking week left in the year, it’s likely that the ‘XO’ singer will finished among the top 10 sellers.
Interestingly, fans have also illegally downloaded Beyonce’s self-titled effort as well.
According to Musicmetric and Billboard, 240,000 copies have been bootlegged off the Internet since its Dec. 13 release.
Had those MP3s been purchased legally, Beyonce would have grossed $3.8 million in sales at $15.99 per album.
While these numbers could be tabulated as lost sales, Musicmetric’s Chief Executive Gregory Mead believes that the data could be useful in gauging her audience.
“The usefulness of BitTorrent data is that it allows record labels to have an incredibly detailed insight into where their artists are popular — right down to the town,” he told Billboard. “Although the file-sharing numbers may be high, it will be possible to translate many of these into buyers.”

This new album is basically pretentious bullshit. Ever since Kanye started to try branching out into the art world (whether he's been successful/knows his shit or not is debatable), a lot of people feel as if they've become experimental artists...Beyonce and Jay being the two biggest culprits. This album showcases that in the clearest way possible.

Beyocne fell off hard to be honest, used to dig her...but yeah safe to say I'm not feeling this new album.

She didn't revolutionize shit lol.
There hasn't been anything revolutionary in the music industry for a long ass time...with the exception of Flying Lotus in my opinion.
