How do you obtain this particular siren:

@ 1:12
I know Madlib uses it a lot, but I've also heard the same identical siren in other producers' songs, so yeah I would like to know where is it sampled from (if sampling is the case) or how do you create it (I suck with VST's and all that stuff).
Cheers.

You can also use this topic to discuss the general use of sirens in producing, etc...

Sounds like a police siren then it goes into a 8-bit video game synth sound.

Pretty much what Hungryman said. The siren sound is older than you. You sure you want to use that?

yeah, that's definitely Galaga. i can't find the arcade version, but here's a sound test from the 2600 that basically just has pitched down versions of all the effects in the game. the one siren is the sound whenever an alien ship flies down toward you, and the other one is some in-game sound...probably the one where the big green one uses it's tractor beam on you.

Thank you!!!! Yeah no. 15 is the one he uses after the siren. I think he looped the last part of it to create that 8-bit siren type sound at the end.

I've never played the game but it definitely does feature some interesting and sample-worthy sounds, thanks!
