Study your history first Stress. The one dude making noise about this project being too gangster/ignorant was GC90. The boards have been behind this project from the giddy up.

Think again homegirl. You might have been history at one point, but times done changed around here...

Yeah so a couple other dudes weren't feeling it, hardly qualifies as 'everybody' in mine or Merriam Webster's book.

O okay you went from a single person GC90 to a couple of people? I think you're the one that needs to have a couple of seats

While you're at it google history it's continuous......

Thanks for playing

Cool. Stop by in another six months and we can play again.

EDIT: After reading the 8 pages on the OG thread. I was accurate in my assessment of GC90 being the main agitator of 'hate' for MadGibbs with one other contributing member, SwampThing, backing him up. So your post today about 'so many people' (which would be 2) is irrelevant. Again, study your history first. The whole board has always been behind this project. You aren't some prophet that saw through the hateration early on.

Ha for the record my one beef was with the videos, which I thought were just uncreative, and a little disappointing in that regard because we so rarely get them Madlib videos. And I'm a bit of a filmmaker so I tend to get hypercritical about that shit. been digging Gibbs/Madlib JOINTS themselves for sure, and this one's no different. Was concerned about how the guests would gel into the album since what we've heard so far is so densely...Gibbsy? him and lib have got a real unique flavor going on. But this new track quelled those fears, now I'm really looking forward to the massive roster of guests.

Hey guys. I was definitely the more vocal one over in that thread (Sunny's right/mistress wrong) and I still stand by what I was saying. I've been excited for the project the whole time but originally this was only based on Madlib's production which I feel like is some of his best stuff in awhile. Now I'd say I'm excited about some of the announced features as well. I still think Gibbs is weak and those two videos for the singles were incredibly stupid content wise.

Personally I think this is going to be like in Search of Stoney Jackson for me. Easily one of Madlib's best produced albums imo, though SAS is pretty weak on the mic (again imo). I listened to the album a billion times and consider it an ST classic. Madlib has the ability to make lame rappers sound good I think. I imagine this album will still be super dope too, though no thanks to Gibbs. I have the thuggin 12" (misprint one!) and got this 7" too, still need the other 12" though.

I realize I'm the only person around here saying this stuff, but it'd get kinda boring around here if everything has to be a circlejerk. All just what I'm thinking about the project anyway.

Edit: Also, I don't consider the stuff "too gangster/ignorant" for ST, plenty of that stuff through out the history of ST actually. My problem is that it is just super corny. I prefer the presentation of this content from other folks who've put out stuff on the label.

oww fuck i need to listen to in search of stoney jackson again. I loved the whole "getting together, have fun and a good time and some rapping over dope beats" jam feeling to it. One of my favorite ST releases.

Following the launch of two critically- and street-acclaimed EPs, and a single released in conjunction with television network Adult Swim, Madlib and Freddie Gibbs return with a final EP launch before they release their long-awaited collaborative album, Piñata.

Why nothing about this on the front page though and how about an early mp3 sale? Cant wait, god damn it.

Putting the three EPs together make for a nice short album

That's what I'm sayin. Bout time I listen to ALL THREE EP'S I'll been heard the whole damn album basically. Compared to the leaked tracklisting that was taken down by STBOT, I think we've heard most of the "original" tracks already. Looking forward to winter 13 or spring 14 for that Piñata lp.

This album has 13 features and we haven't heard any of them yet? And I guess City is definitely not on there, should have realized it was an AS exclusive. Anybody remember how many tracks were on the leaked tracklist?

Surprised no one mentioned anything about Freddie's debut studio album dropping a few months ago...

Definitely Gibbs got the same force on the mic but I think the record lacks production styles like those of Madlib that we're used to hearing on these projects.

Don't be too surprised most of the kids are here strictly for The Madlib's instrumentals.
