I was listening to a Brazil mix earlier today that includes this rendition of Xibaba -- DOPE!:

A simple Youtube search schooled me with some other ones. There's way too much shit to learn in one lifetime.

For any of you madlib jazz heads out there, Jackson Conti has a new track out on the Brazilian Beats 7 album due October 28th. Preview "Plateau Pt.1" on iTunes now.

I should be getting paid for this...

Cus the Jackson conti project is very similar to the Brazilian Love Affair project George Duke did. At least to me anyway...black jazz musician influenced by samba greats goes to Brazil to make an album and has locals collaborate with him in the creation of an album. Id say buy the BLA album and listen to it front to back then read the linear notes from both albums (I'm a nerd). Electro jazz music with tons of funk, rhythm and danceability. Brazilian Sugar is actually a George Duke cover. Jackson Conti is a great listen during the spring/summers seasons.

Those Brazilian Beats are crazy good. I got the box set a couple years ago for cheap. I would highly recommend picking up 1-6.

Anybody have the Jackson Conti on vinyl?

Yeah!
Picked a clean one up in a used bin. I have always loved the sound quality of my copy - Kindred Spirits does a stellar job.

I really need to hear this album.... All I know is that the cover of the Mochilla CD is one of my favorites.

Sorry man. I thought most people snatched that one up when it came out. If it makes you feel any better, I sold my only copy of Sound Directions LP in order to buy the (fully nude) cover version and I've been SOL ever since. That's the only ynq record I don't own besides "I'm singing/rocket love 7".

My copy of Jewelz was dropped and cracked of recent - know where I can grab a new one?

About four years ago ST repressed Jewelz and I scooped it up with the quickness. Sadly there aren't anymore in stock. You never know though ST recently repressed some YU albums I never thought I'd see again.
