what's up ST fam.
i do a lot of music production in my spare time, and with that i love making remixes to various songs...
but i seem to have a really hard time finding acapella versions of tracks i really wanna mess with.
most of the time when i get my hopes up, i put the track on and realize its just some poorly made DIY version...and other times i can't find the acapella at all.
i'm aware of youtube to mp3 conversion sites, and i use them frequently for the acapellas i AM able to find. but it seems like some producers have an endless vault of dope shit that gets passed around on places like message boards and what-not, which they use to make incredible remixes to songs i can never find :(

the main example i have that's killing me right now is John Legend ft. Andre 3000's "Green Light".
i found ONE thread on some weird mb from like '09 that had a link to an acapella version of it, but since then it's been taken down, which totally sucks. and there's a whole list of other tracks that i've had the same issue with...

i've even signed up to a couple of those sites that supposedly host studio-quality acapellas of tons of tracks both rare and popular, but sifting through them is so tedious because it's basically hit-or-miss whether or not you're gonna find something good or just another badly made DIY piece of crap. i know i'm being a little nit-picky here, but i figured i've been here for a few months and this mb seems to really know its stuff. so i wanted to ask if there's some sort of underground mecca of acapellas somewhere that's on the hush-hush for most people that i'm just not aware of...and if so, i'd like to be pointed in that general direction so i don't have to resort to making my own shitty DIY acapellas  haha. thanks in advance...

This is the best site I have found for acapellas, there are a couple of DIY acapellas, but I have found alot of studio quality acapellas on this site.

This.

Sorta related: I got a hold of Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's" 12" and there's an acapella. Keep an eye on the soundcloud.

There's an acapella on the 12" for 'Look of Love'.

bumping this thread because i have a wish list started for all the acapellas i've been on the hunt for lately. i know the following ones exist because i've seen them on 12" records that i don't own, so if anyone has them hit me up through a message or upload them to the STMB CRATES RESOURCES DRIVE please.

- Janet Jackson acapellas
- Usher "U Got It Bad"
- that fucking "Green Light" acapella that's just MIA i guess since nobody's followed up in like 9 months
- Wu-Tang Clan
- Nas (Illmatic preferably)
- ? (can't think of anymore right now, i'll come back and add to this later)

UPDATE (4/26) : i came up with some more...

- Kanye West, "Diamonds (From Sierra Leone)"

- Outkast, "Ms. Jackson"

^ for those two, i just specifically want the "forever ever, ever ever?!?!" parts from each respective song...so if anybody has those, you'd really be helping me out with my next big project by handing 'em off to me on the DL.

Were you unsatisfied with the Ms. Jackson acapellas available on youtube? I'll dig around for a rip of a CD Single or 12".

Edit: I found a CD single release of this, but there's only an instrumental. You should be able to try and isolate it yourself if you get ahold of it in a lossless format.

yeah, i usually don't use YouTube unless i absolutely have to because of the low quality of converted mp3 files (although i'm not necessarily a stickler for .wav's and lossless files)...but i hadn't even thought of searching for either of those tracks on there.

fortunately, i came across a guy that really knows wtf he's doing with DIY's, and i found both acapellas on his channel.  so problem solved, now i can breathe and move on to finding that elusive "Green Light" acapella...
