Great sample and rules. I just used the sample and added a tiny palm muted guitar part at the end.

yo what up beat makin fam! i have a question for yall. i was in guitar center today and was considering buying a mashine since they knocked down the price to about 4bills from the 7 they used to sell it at. I really want to upgrade and all ive ever made beats on is FL Studio. I dont have any pads, keyboards, nothing just a turntable and the program... so with the mashine i would be getting better filters and effects plus possible plugin downloads along with some pads to get a better feel on my drums and sample triggering. however i saw that they had a used mpc 1000 for $500 and dont know which way to go now. i almost took the mpc but they had just got it so they need to keep it in the store for 30 days by law to make sure it doesnt get reported stolen or sum'n.. i really want to get the mpc because it would get rid of all the screens and mouse clicking which would allow me to focus more on the creative aspects of listening to sounds and sequencing and chopping by just the use of some pads and a rotating wheel. (of course software or not it all boils down to listening to the sample and having a vision in your mind when creating music, but with software it seems like theres a lot of tweeking that has to be done and moving around so the notes come out right and the sound doesnt sound too programed but has that swing)... having used only software though i dont know if i should just upgrade to a mashine and build on what ive accomplished so far and have a better tool to progress as opposed to having to learn something different and go through a learning phase, in addition it seems like software is the future but nothing beats that analog and filter sounds of a mpc...... i dont know if it would take a while to learn how to sequence. is it like the 404 where you have to layer? and how easy is it to layer drums? filter them? compressions? flangers? other such things? whatever input you have i appreciate it

Maschine you won't look back, Mikro or the full one, So so quick, the MPC is once you've got your sounds, but even Akai are going down the maschine route, with their renaissance, it's why maschine has dropped it's price, it's also got an update coming very soon, for sidechaining and timestretch, I swear there are loads of maschine users that won't say they use as it's a secret weapon and you would be shot by the purists, everyone I know that tries one wants one. I have an MPC 200Xl I love it but maschine is just the go too tool providing my computer doesn't blow up. Also if something happens with your MPC it can be really hard too get it fixed, you need a specialist and then replacement bits etc. Look at it the deep way if it was meant too be you would of walked out the shop with an MPC, Fate is dangling a Maschine infront of your nose for the taking, the only regret I have is I didn't buy one earlier.

Why would these "rules" separate the men from the boys? thats funny shitt in itself, and why would supplied drums and a pretty jazz sounding sample deter novice beatmakers from cummin all over the track? if anything this weeks "rules" should encourage and HELP novice beatmakers, who would lack drum sounds! good luck.

Well how easy is it too get knocking drums and not do any work yourself, there is no mention of novices what so ever, Boys would = sample packs, presets and cranking everything loud, Men would = knowledge of getting more out of nothing, adapting the sample to his own rules and reality, can you make something good with limitations. Men would also be old enough too know Hiphop is not based around synths and used too be about the vinyl and samples, No offence meant but it does look like you read into someones comment with your own feeling and spin on it, thats what I've done as well. Peace.

Sorry but please don't. this group is for beat battle entries only, otherwise we would totally lose the overview. it actually takes quite a lot of time to make it just through all of the the submissions, so please put only beat battle tracks in there. thanks!
