i just got some tables and want to get into some mixing and scratching what are some good records that i can get...

so far i got 4

ZION 1 - "TEMPERATURE"

if your gonna mix and scratch i suggest you try and find an intrumental album

i agree with shakey. there really arent any records to start with. you just gotta start buyin wax. get what you like. and if you got time, listen to other artist. maybe you heard the name but never heard any of their tracks. give em a quick sample. you'll be surprised at what you find. and when you start buyin 12"s, if your really feeling the song, get doubles. you might not use both copies now. but you'll be thankful you got doubles later on. and as far as scratch/battle records go. most people are gonna run down the same list:

super duck breaks
superseal
the y record
cop porn breaks
yeehaw breaks
theres a thousand of them. if you can, listen to a few and pick one. if not, just grab any old scratch record. i havent came across one yet that dosent have ahhhhh and fresh on it.

yeah well maybe i have misread the question,he maybe asking what records are good for scratching with not what are just good records in general?

buying a bunch of singles made me broke.... my record store has a used section where i look for singles that cost a buck... usually i look for accapellas, even if they are "whack" i can use it for scractchin

Go to sandbox and get doubles of Group Home's "Supa Star" and "Livin' Proof." Doing ish with those tracks always sounds dope.
