Sampling other producers drums won't hurt. There's tons of open snares/kicks out there
Or just sample your own sounds with a mic. Practice makes perfect :mellow:

sampling open snares is fun. ive been tryna find a clean DJ Paul snare it can be challenging but its nice 1nce u get a collection going

I got a lot of 9th Wonder's drums

I've recorded sound effects/punches for snares before, and grunting sounds like how Madlib uses those Dilla "whoa" sounds
I used dilla/hi-tek snares billions of times

Like this one, made it a few days ago

Turn the third osc volume knob all the way up and boom, instant sub bass

first year i was doing just random stuff and didn't care. Does that count?

second year when I found sampling and recording in edison it all just got serious. lol
