Hey, y'all. I put together my first beat with the SP303. Pretty sloppy, hella basic. But, I'm starting to get the hang of it. It's the track titled "for Jess" on my myspace account.

Please check it out. Also, I have just started my mySpace account, so I'd love to link up with other myspace music members.

Thanks.

That Monkey has now multiplied and it's duplicate is hiding in your room, waiting to pounce as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Sorry bro, you probably going to have to move to save your life...that monkey is a stabber....plus he pisses on everything he sees.

Appreciate the feedback. It's definitely still a work in progress. I want to add to it soon.

Yep. YO, I just checked your beats out. They are aweseme. I feel like yours sound more hip-hop than mine. I always feel like mine sound like generic electronic or downtempo. I want that hiphop thump. WHat do you use to make beats with?

man it'd be cool if you put a hammond into the beat you made with the 303 comping in the background and also a big bassline from a sine wav destroying your woofers. Its a good start, glad to see your new equipment is working out for you!

See, that was all over my head, what is a hammond, how much is it and how can I get one. Also, I need advice on making bass lines, that shit is a challenge for me right now. Thank you for the advice, too. Also, I heard your beats, great shit man. I loved it.

a hammond b3 is what most jazz organists play, I'd just sample Jimmy Smith playing some chords in the same key. Bass lines, if you know what the chords are usually work around the one and the five in the chord, ie the first and the fifth note in the scale that corresponds with the chord.

actually, if you want to collab on this I could chop up some organ samples and send them to you as one hits. Or I could add them mysef if you sent that to me as a .wav

I can't help but feel retarded sometimes when I listen to you guys dropping serious knowledge on beatmaking. I listen to music and make beats pretty much all day long and I've never even heard of a "hammond" or whatever the hell was said.

Whatever dude, it's deep knowledge and YOU are a deep dude. And that cat on you avatar is deep too. I'm convinced that everything you've ever put out, was a direct bite outta that cat's material....sike, send me the beat with the bass line when you finish. I'll add cuts to it.

peace....
