Hi,

Can someone tell me where these Madlib remixes came from...

Gang Starr - Just To Get A Rep (Madlib Remix)
Common - Doinit (Madlib Remix)
Method Man - Uh Huh (Madlib Remix)

I've already got the Madlib Remixes 2, so i know they're not on there.

Madlib seem to be good at remixing songs. I listen to the original songs and then listen to his remix, and they're usually as good or if not better than the original song. His remixes tends to be short though; like only a verse or two are remixed. Anways its still good.

I wanna hear more of his remixes.

Just outta spite i'd have to say the stuff no ones heard yet.

Everything we've heard is good even classic, as it goes the best works are the unheard ones.

Alright, relax SanCarlos.

I do buy records. I downloaded Madlib's Remixes 2 and had the mp3s for a good year. A month or two ago i found the CD at a record shop and bought it despite having it on mp3 already.

Like i said, i don't have a vinyl player (and these remixes ain't avaiable on iTunes) and i'm not looking to buy one, because i only buy CDs. So it'll be nice if some can upload it for me to hear.

But if no one wants to do that, then it's okay.

Where can I get my hands on Declaime stuff? What are the ST artists that I should keep aware of besides the obvious big ones?

You didn't take care of your CDs or had a damaged CD player to get your CDs scratched like that.

Vinyls are much more fragile than CDs, that's a fact. And it's easier to copy a CD to a computer than a vinyl.

But there's something great with vinyls : the big covers.

Vinyl isn't more fragile than a compact disc. Who the heck stated that? oh you did
why would you copy something you allready have?
yes the covers are bigger
yes the quality is much better
yes you can make vinyl scratch
etc
yes

those compilations aren't by Madlib. sbdy did those and there are some errors in the tracklisting of one of them. never heard about a vol 3 btw

volume 3 has the first 4 or 5 tracks from 1, the madlib that those mixes have would be madlds best work to me. or his loot pack shit

While I do prefer vinyl, good music is still good music regardless of format.

actually CDs do degrade over time, though it might take decades, even if you never remove them from the case. at least this is the case with the first couple of generations of cds, and especially with the first gen cds (the ones that have the compact disc info disclaimers inside). this degradation is worse than scratches because you cannot buff it out or otherwise repair it. not that it happens with every cd mind, but it does happen. this goes against the idea of cds being the best archival fromat.

if you have an old cd that plays all f'ed up even though it looks scratchless, hold it up to an overhead light (the brighter the better), shiny side towards you. if you see very small points of light showing through the disc, reminiscent of stars against the black night sky, your disc has deteriorated. I used to see it all the time when I worked at a used record shop, scratch free discs that would not play always have these points of light that show through. from what I've read, it just happens over time, though i think most manufacturers may have addressed and corrected this issue.

google compact disc degradation

i have lps, tapes, and cds and ive never been one to argue that lps "sound better" but it does piss me off to think that no matter how well i care for a cd it could still be unplayable one day.
